Playing live!

When looking for a bagpiper for your event it is crucial that you see them perform BEFORE you hire them.  This will allow you to see the attire they wear as well as hear what they sound like without any post production tinkering. Below is a sampling of my playing the Great Highland Bagpipes and Small pipesin various settings.

Smallpipes sample

There are many variations of smallpipes. If you are having an indoor party or event, the smallpipes may be a better choice for background music. I currently play the Walsh A-2000 smallpipes. These pipes are similar to the Great Highland Pipes in the sense that there are drones and a chanter. However, the smallpipes are much quieter. The drones point to the side (instead of over the shoulder). The smallpipes have a bass, baritone, and tenor drones.

The sound of the bagpipe harkens back to an earlier age and rouses the emotions.
