Welcome to Celebrezze Piping! So you're looking to add some authentic Scottish flavor to your event with a bagpiper dressed in traditional Highland attire. That's a great idea!
But if you're like most people, you've never hired a bagpiper before and aren't sure what to look for.
To help you out, I've listed a few things that'll give you peace of mind.
I am happy to share my passion for the bagpipes with you at an event of your choosing.
The Great Highland Bagpipe dates back to at least the 1400s. This powerful instrument has a rich history and can elicit a range of emotions from the listener. It consists of two tenor drones, a bass drone, and chanter. The Great Highland Pipe is best heard outdoors as it is an extremely loud instrument, but can be played inside a large area. Bagpipe music can take your event to the next level.
There are many variations of smallpipes. If you are having an indoor party or event, the smallpipes may be a better choice for background music. I currently play the Walsh A-2000 smallpipes. These pipes are similar to the Great Highland Pipes in the sense that there are drones and a chanter. However, the smallpipes are much quieter. The drones point to the side (instead of over the shoulder). The smallpipes have a bass, baritone, and tenor drones.
